Shimano T Curve Inshore Rod – 2020 Release
It has been almost two decades since the original Shimano T Curve Inshore rod series was initially released in Australia. Now, after a period of absence, Shimano has re-released the much-loved T-Curve Inshore series with some great improvements!
The Shimano Australia development team has worked extremely hard on the "better than ever" T Curve 2020 fishing rod release to ensure that every fishing rod in the new range out delivers on what was released in the previous version. Shimano has updated the rod blank to sport TC4 Graphite using C4S technology, and in terms of components used, Shimano T Curve Inshore models now feature Fuji reel seats and Fazlite K frame guides.
When our Shimano Rep showed us this new, improved release, we immediately placed an order to stock a wide range of the new T Curve inshore models in our store. We knew straight away upon our first physical review that all models in the new Shimano T Curve Inshore Rods range would be winners and that our customers are going to love them.
You see, not only have Shimano remained true to core values of quality and authenticity, but Shimano has made massive progress in technology and design. Combine this with Shimano's focus on customer-centricity, and you have a fishing rod that you will never want to part with - the Shimano T Curve Inshore Rod.

Shimano T Curve Inshore Rod Buying Guide
As you have come to learn, the Shimano T-Curve is a brilliant new range of fishing rods. We will now look at the range in an expanded view below, offering a better feel for which model is best for you.
Light Lake River & Other Inshore – The 682 ultralight is perfect for anyone angling to catch bream and whiting. The 742SPD distance cast model will be excellent for people who need extra-long casts, especially those fishing with surface lures for the likes of whiting, bream or any other surface lure hitters. Without being limited to saltwater, either of these models will be just fine for anglers fishing highly light in the freshwater.
You can't go wrong with a 702SPL or 6102AR. These models are two of our most popular sellers in the range. They will accommodate just about any light inshore fishing pursuit, whether it's freshwater bass, perch or trout fishing, saltwater bream, or flathead hunting.
722SPM is a rod that speaks to the angler who feels like they need more weight in their line class. The 722 can be used for both fresh and saltwater targets, but it will provide you with an extra sense of confidence when casting heavier lines or dealing with tough fish in snaggy habitats.
If you prefer baitcasting over spin casting, the 661BCXL rod is excellent for bream and flathead anglers. The 6101BCL is a superb choice if bass or perch is your selected targets.
Heavy Lake River & Other Inshore – T-Curve Model 701SPXH single piece rod takes heavy inshore spin to the next level. Ideal for targeting cod, barra, mangrove jack and queenfish, to name a few! An added benefit is that you can use this stunner of a rod for light offshore reef fishing too - it's seriously versatile.
The 722SPH is slightly lighter than the 70S1SPXH, but it still has plenty of power for inshore fishing. It's designed to target perch, barra and mangrove jack, snapper, and a bigger flathead class.
Baitcaster enthusiasts will be pleased to see a range of heavy baitcaster rods in the T-curve inshore fishing rod series too. We sell the 61401BCM ideal for mid-class inshore, the 641BCH for barra and northern anglers, and then we carry the 792SWIM or 802SWIMH swimbait rods for murray cod anglers down south; there's an option that suits everyone!
Benefits
- Shimano T curve inshore rod series is made using high-quality graphite materials and gives the angler a superior action for catching fish. The final touches are Shimano's C4S construction process which includes extra layers of cross wrapped graphite that helps make the rod lightweight but powerful. Perfect for many different types of inshore fishing styles, such as lake or river fishing, freshwater or saltwater.
- Featuring Fuji Fazlite guides, T-Curve gives anglers incredible lure placement capability as the Fazlite guides feature a unique design that distinctly improves casting performance and maximizes fishing performance, especially for anglers using braid.
- Unique cork & EVA grips with stylish design are significantly more comfortable, durable and much lighter than most traditional fishing rod grips.
- The multi-piece models in the Shimano T Curve inshore fishing rod range have a revolutionary spigot join, which allows for a thinner fishing rod diameter throughout and creates no flat spot. It gives you a rod that is lighter in weight compared to other joint styles yet stronger all around.
Invest now to experience the new Shimano T Curve Inshore Rod and reap the benefits of its improved features, lighter weight, better accuracy, and superior action.
