Shimano Sienna Reel – New FG Model For Sale
If you were to ask many an angler to name the flagship small spin reel in the Shimano range you’ll have a very large percentage say the Stella, without hesitation. And yes, it is beyond doubt the pinnacle of Shimano spin reel design and engineering. For many other Shimano fans however, they will give you a remarkably different answer. Most anglers would be stunned to learn just how many experienced anglers carry a Sienna as their go-to utility around the inshore grounds. The Sienna reel is one of the cheapest spin reels offered in the Shimano fishing reel range. It is in every way an entry level spin reel, but for many well-travelled, experienced anglers, it’s the Sienna that puts Shimano at the pointy end of spin reel manufacturing.
Having been in the Shimano range for over a decade now, many a newbie has cut their fishing teeth on the Shimano Sienna reel. There have been a few incarnations of the Sienna, but the principal has remained the same. Simple, robust, extraordinarily capable and a delight to use. All this is true of the Latest Sienna FG Reel model. The greatest change is its more contemporary styling. This is due by and large to the G-Free body, which also offers a low centre of gravity making it even easier to use.
With 5 compact sizes in the range, a 1000, 2000, 2500, 3000 or a 4000, you will see these 3+1 bearing legends deployed in the most unlikely of places. You’ll see Barra anglers fishing the creeks with the 4000, taking 60cm plus Barra. The rod is running out of puff while the Sienna is powering on. You’ll see the 2500 being cast as a general light estuary, lake and everyday inshore reel and the Sienna 1000 reel being used by the finesse anglers chasing bream, whiting and more on ultra light line classes.
This is one of the most advanced and best value for money fishing reels in the Australian market place. In fact, dollar for dollar, it doesn’t get much better than a Shimano Sienna fishing reel. There as basic as they come but many an angler still has the first Sienna they bought over 10 years ago and they’re still deploying it now in all sorts of conditions hunting all sorts of fish targets.
You should own a Sienna. While we drool over the Stella, Sienna is the reason we love Shimano so much. The Sienna FG Spin Reel for sale now here at Fishing Tackle Shop.

Fishing Applications and Fishing Rod Suggestion Guide
Sienna 1000 reels are best for light finesse angling inshore, whilst the 2000 or 2500 size sports a little more capacity to tackle a wider range of estuary and lake style fish species. The 3000 or 4000 size makes a great inshore reel for larger species such as mulloway, barramundi and more or also makes a great light beach reel or offshore boat reel where a large capacity is not required.
In terms of rod choice we have developed a handy guide to assist you a little better in making a choice. See the guide here. We are also just a phone call, email or live chat session away if you need any further assistance.
